Chatham Day School is a young institution with a remarkable story. Since its founding in 1998, the school has grown from 44 students in a leased location in Madison, moving then to Livingston, and to this beautiful campus in 2005.  We completed the 2007-08 academic year achieving a record student enrollment; implementing a comprehensive science curriculum; attaining the highest personnel retention rate to date; refining key faculty leadership roles; creating a Professional Development Center (PDC); sustaining and nurturing a partnership with the Global Literacy Project; increasing the anticipated year-end operating balance; paying off a sizeable mortgage debt; and successfully launching the quiet phase of the Imagine Capital Campaign, establishing a crucial milestone for future growth.   And, perhaps most notable was hosting the first annual CDS Eighth Grade Commencement.  Each of our graduates spoke eloquently about his remarkable educational experiences here, and each one moved on to an independent school of choice. This culminating event seemed to embody the school’s evolution as a sustainable institution -- a goal that we all worked so hard to achieve and that we now celebrate with great pride.
