With the enthusiastic support of the faculty and staff, students of Chatham Day School create a culture of caring through community service. Throughout the academic year, classes are involved in grade-appropriate projects ranging from enriching the lives of seniors, to saving endangered animals, to cleaning up the environment.
Our community fosters close friendships and collaboration among students. After school enrichment classes provide a fun, relaxed environment in which to socialize while learning a new skill or developing a creative passion. Some popular courses include: art, cooking, band, yoga, gardening, science, newspaper, broadcast news, instrument lessons, sign language, and sports such as basketball, track, and soccer.
Parental involvement in school makes a critical difference in the performance of children. The Parent Association sponsors many school events to enhance the curriculum, engage parent participation, and build school traditions. Community events such as art exhibits, parent education lectures, learning garden projects, and social gatherings promote school pride and a sense of belonging.
